Crystal from Kreative in Kinder is having a super fun linky party celebrating all the fun things kiddos say. It's important to keep in mind all the wonderful reasons we do what we do! We have HARD job - hard I tell ya! But, our hard jobs aren't without many rewards! One of my favorite parts of the day is the morning when I first pick my little ones up. They always have such amazing stories to tell.
So, here is one of my beloved stories.... It was a few years ago and it was Writer's Workshop time. A little girl named Cyndal (Sin-dle) came back into the classroom from acceleration tutoring in the hallway. She was a bouncing, sweet kinder girl. You just couldn't look at this girl without smiling. Cyndal was the kind of girl who was always excited no matter what we were doing in class. So, anyways - she bounced (literally) back into the classroom during Writer's Workshop - one of the few quiet times of the day and announced: "Oh! It's Writer's Workshop time. I'm gonna write about your booty heels, Mrs. Partin! I love it when you wear booty heels!" I almost died laughing.....what she meant was my boots (which happened to have heels)..... Although it was too funny I always wondered what her parents would think if she went home and talked about my "booty heels". :)
Another time during my first year of teaching kinder, I was teaching away. We had kids rotate all day on computers in the classroom. There I was teaching the class and I look up and see a child with his arm raised, with a computer mouse in hand, standing on tippy toes! I go over to ask what he was doing and he told me, "Mrs. Partin it told me to move the mouse up!" uuummmm --- I had to show him what that meant... :)
I love teaching kinder because we get to live life vicariously through the eyes of little kids. Such a lovely perspective! :)
